A Living Legacy: Arts of the Haudenosaunee

A Living Legacy: Arts of the Haudenosaunee was first presented at the Museum in 2014.  The exhibit featured original art from more than a dozen artists from the Six Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy. Exhibiting artists included Tom Huff, Trevor Brant, Eric Gansworth, Richard Glazer-Danay, Alex Hamer, Debra Hoag, G. Peter Jemison, Luis Lee, Penny Minner, Terrill Hooper O’Brien, Erwin Printup, Marla Skye, and more.

Working in customary media such as beadwork and corn husks, as well as modern media like photography, these artists brought their cultural backgrounds to their art in both traditional and unexpected ways. The show featured beadwork, cornhusk dolls, paintings, photography, carvings, jewelry, and more.
