The History Book Club will meet to discuss Black Flags: The Rise of ISIS by Joby Warrick. An important geopolitical overview with the grisly punch of true-crime nonfiction … The author focuses on dramatic flashpoints and the roles of key players, creating an exciting tale with a rueful tone, emphasizing how the Iraq invasion's folly birthed ISIS and created many missed opportunities to stop al-Zarqawi quickly.

History Book Club meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 pm. Members discuss non-fiction works of history on local, national and global themes. Participation is free and members can choose to attend any or all of the meetings.

word, revisited is a collaborative initiative between the Museum, aaduna, and Olive Trees, celebrating the spoken word. Held on the second and fourth Thursday (minus July and August), each program has a featured speaker and open mic session for the public to share their work. $3 admission. More details here.
