Attention Emerging Artists!
The Cayuga Museum of History and Art in Auburn, NY is hosting the second edition of its CNY Emerging Artist Project, a series of rotating art exhibits. The series is designed to be a showcase of different emerging artists from central New York, and we are looking for a variety of styles.
WHEN & WHERE:
The series will feature a different artist(s) each month, from March – December, with an opening reception on the third Thursday of each month.
The first reception will be on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Cayuga Museum, located at 203 Genesee Street, Auburn, NY 13021. Receptions will be held from 5:00-7:30pm.
Work will be on display at the Cayuga Museum from the third Thursday until the Saturday or Sunday before the third Thursday of the following month. (Example March 21 – April 13, providing three days for installation of the next artist.) The Museum is open Wednesday – Saturday, Noon – 5pm; with extended hours of Tuesday – Sunday from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
We will be accepting submissions of two dimensional artworks and sculpture from artists in the central New York area. Artists must be within driving distance of Auburn, work will not be accepted via mail. We will not accept submissions of video installations.
Artists are asked to submit up to 5 works of art that are representative of their body of work. Selected artists must have enough work to fill 1,214 square feet of gallery space. (Note: The Cayuga Museum is housed in an historic mansion, with non-traditional galleries.) Artists may be paired together if necessary.
Due to space limitations, we cannot guarantee all submitted artwork will be included in the show.

The committee will make selections for the full series in early January, with nine time slots available. If you have a conflict please note it with your submission.
