Dr. Victor Garlock at word, revisited
April 12, 2018 –
The Cayuga Museum, in partnership with Olive Trees and aaduna, is continuing a program dedicated to writers and writing. Word, revisited is a bimonthly, community program exploring original writing in all its diverse, intriguing, provocative, and exciting forms.
Professor and published author Dr. Victor Garlock is our featured reader on April 12. An expert on hypnosis, sleep and dreams, his book Your Genius Within: Understanding Sleep, Dream Interpretation and Learning Self-Hypnosis earned him a five-star rating among readers and remained in the Top 100 books in the category of Dreams with Amazon for over four months.
Dr. Garlock was a psychology professor at Cayuga Community College for 30 years, and taught psychology and education courses at a number of other colleges, private vocational institutes, and maximum security prisons.
Garlock has conducted enrichment programs for elementary, middle and high school students on the topics of sleep and dreams. He has also led in-service workshops on hypnosis and stress management for hospitals, community mental health centers and private corporations.
Word, revisited takes place on the second and fourth Thursday of each month in the intimate space of the Carriage House Theater behind the Cayuga Museum. Each evening’s program includes both a featured speaker and an open mic session. Doors will open at 5:30 pm for open mic sign-up; the featured speaker will begin at 6:00. Admission is $3 per person, cash bar is available.
All proceeds benefit the Cayuga Museum.
