From the beginning, art was central to the mission of the Cayuga Museum which holds hundreds of paintings in its permanent collection. While we hold works from noted Cayuga County artists such as William Bruce, Frank Barney, and Robert Goodnough, our collection is unique in that it also contains works by student artists. Founding director Walter Long taught various art classes and the local Daubers [art] Club was involved in the founding of the museum. Many of these student creations became part of the art collection over the years.
