DESCRIPTION:May is Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month\, and we’re recognizing the occasion with a series of special cultural activities. From 1-3 PM\, join public historian Anneliese Meck for a unique living history pop-up which will explore the Chinese American experience in the fight for women’s suffrage. Throughout the day\, you may join us in the Cayuga Museum’s classroom for a paper fan making activity\, then explore the Museum with your family to complete a scavenger hunt and win a special prize.  The Schweinfurth Art Center will not be offering activities this month. \nLearn more at cayugamuseum.org/creative-explorers

DESCRIPTION:Image Credit: Inner Eye-The King (Shemar)\, oil on canvas\, 2024 \nJoin us for the opening of our new summer exhibitions. These exhibits will be on display at the Cayuga Museum and Schweinfurth Art Center. The reception will take place from 4-6 PM. Admission to this event is free and open to the public. \nThe following new exhibits will be on display: \nPeople Seen\, Places Been by Haley Indorato (On Display May 30 – July 11\, 2026)\nThe second West End Arts Campus CNY Emerging Artist of 2026. Haley Indorato’s exhibition People Seen\, Places Been features oil painting’s tradition of depicting people\, places\, and things observed from everyday life. Her work is mostly based in figurative art and Western Art History\, often concerning myself with questions of representation and narrative. \nSa:gwá yo’ Gayogohó:nǫ’ / Cayuga People\, We Returned (On Display May 30 – September 19\, 2026)\nFeatures artworks\, audio\, video\, and artifacts that bridge the circumstances of Gayogo̱hó:nǫˀ displacement\, diaspora\, and return\, which features art by Hodinǫhsǫ́:nih artists and makers throughout all Six Nations contributing their voices to this pivotal dialogue on Gayogo̱hó:nǫˀ homecoming\, resiliency\, and repair. \nLearn More
