March First Friday: Inspiring Women Portrait Making Activity

March 1 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Free
Come join us for First Friday on the very first day of International Women’s History Month! Enjoy a special activity related to the ongoing temporary exhibition “Americans Who Tell the Truth: Portraits by Robert Shetterly.” More than half of the portraits of inspiring individuals on display feature extraordinary women whose thoughts and actions helped to change and shape the US. With your family, explore the two galleries of portraits and find which of these women inspires you the most. Then, work together to recreate their portrait in your own style, or thing of an individual who isn’t featured in the exhibit who you’d like to represent. This exhibition is held in partnership with the Southern Cayuga Anne Frank Tree Project. The Cayuga Museum will be open from 5-7:30 PM for First Friday. Light refreshments will be available on the second floor, and admission will be free.
