Through the Decades: 90 Years of Collecting

The Cayuga Museum is proud to celebrate its 90th anniversary this year. Through the Decades marks this important milestone by highlighting a wide range of objects collected from the museum’s earliest years in the 1930s through 2026. This special exhibition offers a unique opportunity to showcase rarely displayed pieces from our permanent collection alongside works by some of our most beloved and well-known artists, including Frank Barney and George Clough. Visitors will discover an engaging mix of paintings, clothing, posters, and other historic objects that reflect the cultural, artistic, and social history of our region. Together, these items tell the story of how the museum—and the community it serves—has grown and evolved over nine decades.
